LMNA Lake Morton Clean Up!
Seventeen neighbors came out on Saturday, May 21st to help clean up in and around Lake Morton. The City of Lakeland provided grabbers, bags, and gloves to help get the job done. Plus we were rewarded with a fancy ball cap!
The shoreline was mostly clean, but the edges of the water had lots of junk floating. Manu straws, plastic bottle caps, styrofoam cups and plastic bags were float near the where our feathered friends nest. We also found old tennis balls, and old football, many bottles of alcohol and some other unmentionables.
All in all it was a great way to give back to the neighborhood we live in and connect with some neighbors that don;t normally get together. We hope to have another lake clean up in the fall.
